Update of the Covid measures: use of the health mask (UAB press release)

With respect to the sanitary measures aimed at containing the Covid-19 pandemic, I would like to inform you that, as of today (20 April 2022), the use of face masks in closed spaces will continue to be recommended at the UAB whenever a distance of 1.5 metres among people cannot be guaranteed. Further details on these measures can be found in this operative instruction.

Despite the relaxation of measures by the health authorities, it is essential that we all continue to observe the greatest caution, as we have done up to this point, to prevent any possible spreading of the virus.

Second term teaching (UAB press release)

On 31 January 2022, the UAB Office of the Vice President for Studies and Teaching Innovation reports that the forecasts communicated by those most responsible for the current epidemiological situation, marked by the predominance of the omicron variant and the high level of immune protection population, have allowed the Department of Health to begin scaling up the general prevention measures of Covid-19, while lightening them.

In line with these provisions, the UAB plans to introduce for this second semester the measures established in the Contingency Plan that were already applied in the first semester: attendance and capacity at 100%, both in internships and assessments and in theory. Given the reduction in quarantine to one week, we do not consider it necessary to make the teaching method more flexible: the usual mechanisms should be used in order to keep the affected students cared for and guarantee their right to assessment.

Instruction 1/2022 by the UAB manager setting out the criteria for applying the measures set out in SLT / 8/2022, of 4 January, extending and modifying health measures public for the containment of the epidemic outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in the territory of Catalonia.

Last Instruction from the Autònoma University of Barcelona. With regard to teaching, the development of theoretical activities will continue with a simultaneous attendance of up to 100% of the total authorized capacity. This allows compliance with the Instruction for teaching planning for the 2021-2022 academic year approved by the Governing Council on July 8 and may be reformulated in accordance with the evolution of pandemic control.

Given the current increase in the number of infections and considering the impact that this may have on the development of academic tasks, measures will be taken to make teaching and assessment activities more flexible during the last weeks of the first semester, which will be specified and communicated by each of the centers.

The second semester will begin in the form of face-to-face teaching as long as it continues to allow the conditions established in the successive resolutions of the Department of Health and in mixed teaching in the event that additional limitations are specified.
