Observatory for equality UAB

The purpose of the UAB Equality Observatory is to analyze and disseminate information on the evolution of indicators relating to equality between women and men, to improve the planning and evaluation of public policies from a gender perspective.

Gender inequalities at the university manifest themselves at different levels and in different ways: in forms of violence, in individual choices of discipline, profession or research topic, in our professional and participative practices, in the selection process of new personnel, in our aspirations and priorities, in the promotion system or in the scientific and organizational culture itself, among others. And it is that the diagnostic studies and the data produced for more than a decade highlight the existence of differences between women and men which can be interpreted as indications of discrimination, indirect or covert, in certain aspects and practices of the university institution

On this website we present those indicators that measure the degree of sexism at the UAB and that have been selected based on a previous diagnosis. These indicators allow us to visualize the situation of women in our institution, highlighting those aspects that require a deeper analysis and intervention.
