L’ EUI Sant Pau is open?

The school is open. People who have to come to the school to do some paperwork recommend that they request an appointment in order to avoid congestion and must strictly follow the safety measures established by Health.

How is the EUI prepared for an outbreak?

EUI Sant Pau carries out a detailed scenario planning on what to do in the event of an outbreak of the disease. This scenario planning will focus on what could be done if the situation deteriorates. We are issuing regular communications to staff and students about precautions to prevent infection.

What does the school do to minimize the risk of infection?

The EUI seeks to reduce general and specific risks to personnel through appropriate infection control actions and focuses cleaning operations on surfaces that are frequently touched to reduce the likelihood of transmission. By placing screens in student care offices, hydroalcoholic ice dispensers, and ensuring that soap dispensers in restrooms are fully stocked at all times.

The Department of Health establishes to maintain the generic measures of individual protection currently applicable against respiratory diseases, which include:

  • Wash hands frequently (with soap and water or alcoholic solutions), especially after direct contact with sick people or their environment.
  • Cover your mouth and nose with disposable handkerchiefs or the inside of your elbow when you cough or sneeze and wash your hands immediately.
  • Avoid close contact (at least a distance of two meters) with people who suffer from acute respiratory infections and have coughs, sneezes or sputum, and do not share personal belongings.
  • Avoid sharing food, utensils (cutlery, glasses, napkins, handkerchiefs, etc.) and other objects without cleaning them properly.

Will exams and assessments be affected?

Face-to-face teaching has been replaced by virtual teaching. Teachers will establish operating guidelines with their students. The virtual teaching carried out during the period of suspension of the face-to-face classes will form part of the evaluation of the subjects.

In the case of practical subjects, laboratory activities and other cases that cannot be carried out virtually, teachers will propose specific substitution actions and communicate them to students. With regard to curricular external academic internships, in the event that they cannot be carried out because the destination institution has taken measures to prevent this, alternative options will be assessed in each case.

What should I do if I suspect I may have coronavirus?

If you have been in close contact with a confirmed case, avoid contact with other people, do not go to the CAP and call 061 to follow the instructions of the Department of Health.
The app de Salut Respon has a coranovirus section with a very simple quiz with “Yes or No” answers. They ask you for a phone number to contact the person who has coronavirus criteria. One of the aims of creating this section is not to saturate the emergency numbers 061 and 112.
