Training Plan
Clinical simulation allows us to train skills and procedures, develop communication, leadership and teamwork skills, as well as problem-solving strategies at any skill level. It is an excellent teaching and learning path for both undergraduate students and professionals undertaking postgraduate training.
Degree in Nursing
The EUI-Sant Pau Nursing Degree Curriculum implements clinical simulation as a complementary teaching method in theoretical subjects and also in 2 subjects, of 3 ECTS each, specifically aimed at working on skills and attitudes for caring for people. The 2 subjects are integrated into the 2nd and 4th years of the degree.
- Simulation I subject, 2nd year: 50 skills sessions, mainly from zone 1 (simzones), focused on basic procedures related to personal care from the perspective of V. Henderson's 14 needs.
- Simulation II subject, 4th year: 24 sessions of zone 2 skills, aimed at care processes that address all the skills that a novice nurse must have, applied throughout the life cycle of people and in the diversity of care environments where the novice graduate will need to transfer the knowledge achieved.
Postgraduate
Since the 2023-24 academic year, the EUI Sant Pau master's and specialization courses have progressively integrated the simulation methodology into their respective teaching programs. Simulation-based experiences (EBS) are used and are developed in scenarios that simulate real care contexts, specifically designed for the different areas of knowledge in order for nursing professionals to perfect the skills specific to the discipline.
